We’re delighted to announce that Resonance is expanding. From Monday 9 March, Alex Penk is joining the team as Strategy Partner, reflecting our strong growth and opening up new horizons for our clients.

Since launching, Resonance has been helping a diverse range of clients across New Zealand to develop strategies, to innovate and market themselves in unique and compelling ways. We’ve grown so fast that we hit capacity months ago. So when the chance came up to bring Alex into the business, we grabbed it with both hands.

Alex has spent the last six years as CEO of the independent public policy organisation, Maxim Institute. During his time as CEO he took Maxim through significant change to real impact, leading multiple iterations of planned and emergent strategy. He’s passionate about the difference that good strategy makes because he’s lived and breathed it, and he knows how to connect strategic thinking to daily results. His skills and experience will strengthen Resonance’s ability to give our clients the kind of actionable strategies that provide a sustained advantage over time.

Alex isn’t just a skilled strategist and an experienced leader—he’s also been a corporate lawyer, a researcher, a university lecturer, a respected voice in the media, and a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University. He knows what it takes to build high-performing teams and how to translate research and analysis into something that’s actually useful for busy decision-makers. If you want to get to know him a little better, you can find Alex’s full bio here.

With Alex on board, we have more strategy, research and innovation capacity than ever to help clients across New Zealand and Australia and can also provide new services to our clients in fields like leadership, team culture, and communications.

We hope you can see why we’re so excited to have Alex on board, and that you’ll join us in welcoming him to the Resonance whānau.
